1.   EVENT: AID/WATCH Land Meeting

AID//WATCH invites you to a discussion around customary land in Melanesia, with a special guest Yat Paol, Campaigns Organiser from the Bismarck Ramu Group (BRG) in Madang, PNG. Yat has long-term experience in supporting villagers organise themselves against corporate developments that would alienate or damage their land.  

 

When: Monday 15 February, 7:00pm

2. Position Vacant: AID/WATCH Office and Fundraising Manager  
This role focuses on managing our small Sydney office, implementing key elements of AID/WATCH's fundraising program in collaboration with other staff and includes some book-keeping and financial management duties. 


Responsible to: AID/WATCH Committee of Management 
Salary: $52,946 pro rata (15 hours per week)

4.   Publication: Risky Business by Jubilee Australia 

Jubilee Australia's report, Risky Business, shines a spotlight on the financing by Australia's export credit agency, EFIC, of extractive projects in developing countries. It aims to make EFIC more accountable to Australians, and to improve the outcomes of extractive projects for people, countries and environments. It case studies two current examples of EFIC support for extractive projects in the Pacific - the Gold Ridge mine in Solomon Islands and the LNG project in PNG.
